What a great start to a new year of SEAS meetings! We had a standing-room-only turnout at the Library Center where David taught us about water quality and testing, refractometers were calibrated, and Joel brought his own equipment to test phosphate levels in club members water samples. It was a great venue for the meeting.
Then we all headed to Shawn's business in Nixa to mix up Eric Borneman's coral food recipe. Each club member got to take a bag of this foul green sludge home to recycle into gorgeous live coral! The frag swap was the usual chaotic fun. Lot of us went home with something new for the tank (or 5 things).
Special thanks to Shawn Summers for allowing us to use his facilities for the frag swap. It seemed to work great for everyone - don't you think? We made a bit of a mess, but hopefully he will have us back. Thanks also to Dave and Cheryl (and others!) for getting getting their hands dirty making up coral food for us all. I think nearly everyone pitched in with ingredients so our corals will soon be looking better than ever. And thanks to Joel for bringing his equipment and then spending the next couple of hours testing water for us.
The club keeps growing, and it was great to meet new members. Keep in mind that new officer elections are coming up in April - please consider keeping the ball rolling with your leadership!
